Johar Ali is the son and disciple of late Ustad Gohar Ali Khan of Rampur. One of the greatest violin geniuses. Johar Ali belongs to the famous Rampur and Patiala Gharana. His grandfather was the illustrious Ustad Ali Baksh, the founder of Patiala Gharana which has produced a number of great classical artists like Ustad Fateh Ali, Ustad Amanat Ali, Hamid Ali etc.

All the four brothers of Johar Ali are music artists. Ajmal Ali is tabla player, Nazakat Ali is music composer, Nadeem Ali is singer and Asif Ali besides being a tabla player he is singer too. Music is in the blood of the family for many generations and the tradition is explicitly visible even today.

2. Has been Member of General Assembly of Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India from 09.09.2003 to 08.09.2006.
3. Appointed as Member in the Empanelment Advisor Committee Of ICCR - for the period 2003 to 2005
4. Visiting Judge for Music at CCRT under Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of India.
5. Visiting Judge for Cultural Programs organized by various agencies such as Heart Care Foundation, MTNL , AIIMS etc.

 Family
Father Late Ustad Gohar Ali
Born in Rampur, Ustad Gohar Lai was the son of Ustad Laddn Khan His Mother Khtari Begum was the daughter of Ustad Ali Baksh (Famous as journail Shab) who was the founder of patiala Gharana style of Music.

Ustad Gohar Ali remembered for his immense dedication and contribution for the growth of music He was popular aming people as he was seen practicingmusic every minute he could spare from his busy schedule of life he started learning music at a very early age from his uncle Ustad Akhtar Hussain Khan.

Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, and Ustad Qazam Hussain. Once he had gained the deep knowledge of music he moved to Delhi and joined Bhartiya Kala Kender as a staff musician. His contributions for the cause of music has been his association with some of the great artists like Bade Dagar Sahab, Pandit Sunder Prasad, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Ustad Sadik Ali. He was well adapt with different styles and forms of india. He also worked with renowed dancer shri Kelu Charan Mohapatra, Sanjukta Panigrahi, Sonal Maan Singh, Hari Krishan Behra and Mayadhar Raut. He was very simple person but his achievements spoke of him as he was very popular figure among the masses.

Ajmal Ali
Second son of Ustad Gohar Ali learnt tabla from Ustad Nizamudin Khan. He has performed several music concerts in India and foregn countries. he has also performed with some of the renowned artists like Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. He later went on to establish an institute at Dubai named "Ajmal Ali Music Center" Hea has performed internationally in some of the countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, UK and Hong Kong, Kuwait.

Nazakat Ali
The Third son of Ustad Gohar Ali received training of music from his father. He is basically a composer of music and has given in a number of albums. He was also a judge in the program "Dubai Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" He has contributed by giving musical shows at Dubai, Hong Kong and Europe.

Nadeem Ali
Fourth son and disciple of Late Ustad Gohar Ali has also learnt music and singing from Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. He has given many successful shows in Dubai and many other countries in Europe.
